Conventional, trackless and semi-mechanised operations at any reef width, across PGM, chrome and gold, with clear production milestones.
Design, fabrication and assembly are performed in South Africa through a steel manufacturer and engineering works based in Brits, North West. That is what lets us control lead times and turn a change found on a panel this week into production the next — and it extends beyond our own portfolio into steel manufacturing and supply for third parties.
A mining triage system built around the person who runs the panel. It starts from a simple position: the miner is the only person legally able to take charge of a crew, and the only one who spends the full shift at the face — so every other function should be serving the miner. In most operations that relationship runs the other way round.
The method treats the mining cycle as a wheel carried on eight spokes — safe production, human resources, cleaning, drill and blast, the miner, construction, documentation and sustainability. The shortest spoke sets the size of the wheel, and the number of turns the wheel makes is the number of blasts that panel produces in a month. It is delivered in dashboard form, so a shaft can see which spoke is short this month.
Delivered at Sibanye-Stillwater Kloof 1# as a training, auditing and reporting system at miner level.
